Humidity Level

Living and growing up in Texas means that I am no stranger to the humidity. Though I am no stranger to it, I am still not always sure how to handle it. I have naturally curly hair, so wearing my hair straight on days with high humidity is never an option, and running in the humidity is high on my list of things I don't particularly enjoy doing. However, I made myself suck it up for a 5-mile run, because I am running in the Blue Bell Fun Run 10K this weekend with a couple of my roommates and a friend from high school. Seeing as I haven't run that distance in quite some time, I felt like it would be in my best interest to do so, so that I feel somewhat prepared for this race on Saturday. I know it is just a "fun run," but I am a very competitive person, so I have a hard time not comparing my times from year to year.

After breakfast, some studying for a test I have tomorrow, and a bit of brainstorming for my third and final research paper of the semester, - more on that coming soon, because I have to brag on some of my former teachers for helping me out on this one - I drove on over to Mueller Park to complete a 5-mile run. The run went much better than expected, though I was a sweaty mess by the end of it. 87% humidity is no joke!

I apologize for the glare on the photo - I have got to get better at taking pictures with my phone!
I am still trying to cool down from that run, and I about ready to make myself a huge bowl of fruit to tide me over until I decide what I want for lunch. And before I bid you adieu, if you're suffering from a case of the Mondays, look the bright side, the day is almost halfway over!

  1. Oh man, I hate humidity. I'm from Colorado, where there is pretty much no humidity and these East Coast summers are rouggghh on me. Way to still get your run in!

    1. Humidity is rough - but I had the hardest time running in Colorado when I went there a few summers ago for a YoungLife camp! I made it literally about five minutes.. the altitude just gets to me! So I'd say way to go to YOU for getting your Colorado runs in!
