Thursday night was SRD's annual spring event - Casino Night! It is the one big event we have in the spring, so it was a pretty big deal! I have to admit that I was less than excited about it, as I had had an extremely busy and stressful week, and I still had a big paper due on Friday with which I was still not quite done by the time Casino Night started. I had a minor breakdown on the phone with my mom, and like she always does, managed to calm me down and assure me that everything would be okay. It was, of course, but I just felt the stress of everything at that moment and needed some reassurance!
The theme of the night was "All That Glitters and Glows," which meant there was a wide range of options in terms of dress. Some people were decked out in neon, while others chose to wear sparkly dresses and heels. No outfit was out of place and everyone looked great.

We had card dealers and a DJ come in for the event and it was seriously a blast. People had fun testing out their gambling skills, as well as busting a move on the dance floor. You could have found me on the dance floor with my best friends all night long, because even though I literally have no dance skills, I love to dance, and it was a serious stress reliever. I sported a negative attitude all day for absolutely no reason at all, as I ended up having a great time. There was a photobooth, excellent food, great music, and my best friends. What more could I ask for?

Our program director, aka my boss, did an amazing job with the decorations and planning and make sure everything ran smoothly. It was a successful Casino Night, that's for sure! |
